Rasa Vineyards Distribution in NJ

Finally, after a months-long process, we can now sell our wines in NJ.  Of course, we still can’t sell direct to consumer since NJ doesn’t allow that.  But we can sell to restaurants and wine stores.
If you live in NJ and would like to see our wines in your favorite wine store or restaurant, please […]

A Birthday During Harvest

I’m definitely at that age where I don’t think about celebrating my birthday.  It’s just another day closer to death as far as I’m concerned (alright, so that’s a bit melodramatic).  But, I have three little kids and birthdays for them are magical.  So, for them, I dispense with the macabre and enjoy the day.
Unfortunately […]

Thanksgiving Wines

Thanksgiving was fun.  As usual, Cindy did all the cooking and I was responsible for the wine.  We started things off with a couple of Rieslings – Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben 2007 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett and Karlsmuhle Peter Geiben 2008 Kaseler Nies’chen Riesling Kabinett.

I’m a […]

Stephen Tanzer Rates the 2007 Rasa Vineyards QED

Stephen Tanzer just gave our 2007 QED 91 points.

2009 Harvest

It is unbelievable to me but we are now finished with our third harvest.   The harvest went well though it was atypical.  Things started out slowly with bud break behind by 2 weeks.  But the high heat in July/August really accelerated growth making for a relatively early harvest.  Then a cold front in October put […]

The Wine Advocate Reviews the 2007 Rasa Vineyards QED

The Wine Advocate just gave our 2007 QED 93 points.
Here’s what they had to say:
The first release, the 2007 QED is made up of 94% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 3% Mourvedre sourced from several top vineyards.  It was aged in 25% new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a classy nose of pepper, mineral, […]
