Trip to Washington

More Research - McCrea Cellars
A few months ago, I heard about Doug McCrea and the wines he’s crafting at McCrea Cellars. The winery’s home page says “McCrea Cellars is Washington State’s first winery entirely dedicated to Syrah and to Rhone varietal wines.”

Used Pepper Bridge Barrels
We were in need of 45 used barrels for the 2008 harvest. So we went back to Pepper Bridge Winery and Jean-François Pellet (winemaker). We used 24 barrels from Pepper Bridge last year.
We got confirmation earlier this week from JF that he has 45 used French barrels for us. Great. One less thing to worry about.

2008 Vineyard Sources
As I said in an earlier post, we need about 23 tons of fruit for the 2008 harvest. We’re almost there. Here are our fruit sources for ‘08:
Les Collines Vineyard (Walla Walla) - 12 tons Syrah
DuBrul Vineyard (Yakima) - 3 tons Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 ton Merlot
