Barrels and Blend

Artifex

We now have a place to make our first wines.  We just signed the contract to make wine at Artifex and will be sending a deposit shortly.  Now we need to get some racks and barrels.

28 acres (no mule)

We are now the proud owners of 28 acres of prime land in Milton-Freewater.  Yeah!!!
The first thing we noticed about this land was the rocks–large basalt cobblestones.  The soil is made of coarse-grain alluvial sediments consisting mainly of these basalt cobblestones. This soil will yield wines of great structure and individuality.  Man! I can’t wait.

Another Closing

In March, we purchased 13 acres of property in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.  Milton-Freewater sits on the border of Washington and Oregon, several miles south of the town of Walla Walla.  This is our first purchase and we are psyched.  The property is on “the rocks”.
